Not A Certified Diver? Never Dived Before? No problem! Discover Scuba Diving is for beginners who have never dived before but want to experience the underwater world. We will take you to explore underwater environments within a depth limit of 12 meters, with professional supervision at all times.
This Discover Scuba Diving trip will take you to Racha Noi and Racha Yai Islands where you can see Jenkins Whip Rays, Stone Fish, frogfish and many more. This trip is available every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday

Discover Scuba Diving in Phuket is for beginners who have never dived before but want to experience the underwater world. We will take you to explore underwater environments within a depth limit of 12 meters, with professional supervision at all times. Discover Scuba Diving lets you try diving without taking a full 3 day beginner course.

What to expect in this Discover Scuba Diving

Our professional diving instructor will be your underwater guide. They will teach you the basics of scuba diving, underwater communication, and equipment use for shallow dives (up to 12 meters). Throughout the day, you'll complete 2 or 3 fun dives, getting a great look at the underwater world. Your instructor will stay by your side, helping you adjust your buoyancy until you can move on your own. If you struggle with kicking, they can assist you.

Most people get the hang of it within 10-15 minutes and start diving independently. If not, our instructors will provide all the help you need. Once you follow the basic diving instructions, you'll be able to explore underwater on your own, with the guide always within arm's reach to assist if necessary.

We follow the PADI guidelines and standards so you no you’ll be kept perfectly safe at all times. You will get a completion certificate at the end of the day but the programme does not qualify you to dive on your own. You will however get to know exactly what it feels like to breathe underwater and so decide if you want to get certified in the future. We believe that after you dive with us, Local Dive Thailand, you will look forward to diving more!

Free Pool Try!

If you can get yourself to our Rawai dive center then we’re more than happy to take you in our pool for a quick try before your day on the boat. You’ll get your first experience of breathing underwater and practice the simple skills required for the PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme. This isn’t absolutely necessary but certainly for those with little water confidence it makes a great deal of difference. If for some bizarre reason you really don’t like the sensation then you can cancel your trip on the boat and save yourself some money.

Discover Scuba Diving Dive Site and Marine Animals

We recommend you to go to the Racha Noi and Racha Yai dive sites for the Discover scuba diving trip. They are the best dive site for training locations for new divers as they have gentle water current. Divers can see Jenkins Whip Rays, Stone Fish, frogfish, Banded sea kraits, and hard coral reef. Our boat departs to Racha Noi and Racha Yai every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

King Cruiser and Phi Phi Island are not recommended for Discover Scuba Diving,

Who Should take this Discover Scuba Diving

Non certified divers

Those who lack water confidence
Those who lack the time to complete a PADI Open Water diver course (the course takes 3 days)

Have a reasonable health
Complete PADI medical form
No flying for at least 18 hours after scuba diving

How to get there

We have free hotel pick up and return for Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata, Rawai, Nai harn and Chalong areas. We also provide pick up for other areas, however it will include additional charge.
If you want the pick up service, please inform us your hotel name and location then we will schedule the pick up time.
Alternatively, you can meet us at Chalong pier at 7:50-8:00 am of the diving day (Search "Chalong pier meeting point on google map)
