Koh Tao Scuba Diving Trip Experience
Koh Tao Island is a paradise for scuba divers from all over the world. There are around 30 amazing dive sites, all within a 40-minute boat ride from FIFTY56SIXDIVE’s dive center on Sairee Beach.
Diving in Koh Tao offers a diverse underwater landscape. Our diving trips cover a wide range of sites, allowing you to explore various coral reefs, granite pinnacles, wall dives, and artificial sites, including the renowned HTMS Sattakut shipwreck. In Koh Tao, you’ll see various marine life, including fish, turtles, and whale sharks, depending on the season.
While Koh Tao is a year-round diving destination, the best time to dive is during the dry season, from March to September. The calm seas and clear visibility during this period make it perfect for divers of all levels. For those eager to see whale sharks, the best time is during the whale shark season in Koh Tao, which usually peaks in March and April.
To enhance your experience, we offer VIP equipment setup, breakdown, and washing. Just show up and dive while we handle the rest. And for the best experience, we keep group sizes to a maximum of four (4) divers per leader. We also avoid mixing certification levels so more experienced divers can enjoy longer dives together. Unlike most dive centers in Koh Tao, we don’t restrict our dive times to 45 minutes. We can dive up to an hour for each dive, as long as there’s enough air in your tank.
Our Koh Tao diving trips depart twice daily:
Morning dives: 6:00 am - 11:00 am
Afternoon dives 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
We also offer night diving trips with one dive, available every other night. The night trip departs at 6:00 pm and returns to shore by 8:30 pm.

Marine Life at Koh Tao
Koh Tao dive sites are teeming with marine life. Hard and soft coral reefs around the island are home to colorful tropical fish such as lionfish, parrotfish, and butterflyfish, as well as pelagic fish like barracudas and demersal fish like groupers and snappers. You can also find stingrays, eels, nudibranchs, and crustaceans. Divers might also spot hawksbill and green turtles. And if you're really lucky, you might even see whale sharks while diving around Koh Tao, particularly during the whale shark season between March and May. These gentle giants are a rare but unforgettable highlight for divers, adding to the island’s appeal as a must-visit diving destination in Thailand.
